Pudong Shangri-La

The Pudong Shangri-La in Shanghai is currently the biggest hotel in the hotel chain, with 981 rooms on the 36 floors of an ultra-modern glass tower, designed by New York architects Kohn Pedersen Fox. The hotel is located in the heart of the business district, called Lujiazu, on the east bank of the Huangpu River, next to the Bund. Since becoming the new business district in the 1990s, the Bund is proud to be home to some of the finest architectural creations of the 21st century.

Accommodation :

The Premier rooms are 54 m² with a superb view either on Bund Avenue, which runs along the Huangpu River, or on the business district of Shanghai. They are of course equipped with the latest technology, and there is a VIP Club which offers services to all its members.
Shanghai has become a major international financial and business centre in recent years. The Shangri-La therefore has provided its guests with a computer room, with 8 workstations, and a number of meeting rooms. After a long day of work, the hotel's ballroom is at your disposal, ready to entertain up to 1,700 people for a cocktail.

Restaurants :
Internationally known designers have created the decor of the various restaurants, café, bars and lounges.
- The Yi Café offers such varied cuisine that you will be spoilt for choice : Chinese, Japanese, Moroccan, Indian, Asian and European fare is available.
- A tea room, Gourmet, offers fine patisserie, special breads, chocolate and ice cream.
- You can either drink or eat in the evening at the Lounge or Bar.
- The restaurant and bar Jade on 36, located on the 36th floor of the tower, overlooking the river, offers a view that will take your breath away but not your appetite. French chef Paul Pairet excels with his innovative cuisine inspired by his experimenting with diverse international cuisines. This is one of the best restaurants in Shanghai.

The bar, conceived as a jewel box, gets busy at night.
- Another restaurant in the Shangri-La is the Chinese restaurant Gui Hua Lou, with its specialities from Canton, Shanghai, and Sichuan.
- The Fook Lam Moon offers Cantonese cuisine, notably its famous specialty, shark's fin with swallow's nest.
- The BATS (Bar at the Shangri-La) offers live music daily.

Spa :
The CHI Spa has been voted one of the ten best spas in the world by Forbes.com. The decor in particular has been well thought out and is inspired by Tibetan temples. The spa is accessorized with Chinese and Himalayan artefacts throughout its 800 m2. The sliding teak panels allow for an adaptable space, with the possibility of 5 or 6 treatment rooms. CHI offers body and facial treatments, as well as massages in the Chinese and Himalayan traditions. Also available are aromatic saunas, colour therapy, a relaxation lounge and hydrotherapy inclusive of baths, and slimming, firming and detoxification treatments.
